Minister of Youth and Sports Dito Ariotedjo wants the future Olympic medal tally to be evenly distributed across all sports participated in by the Indonesian contingent and not just in certain sports.

Dito also revealed that the government is currently building sports facilities, such as the Cibubur Elite Youth Training Center in Jakarta and the Paralympic Training Center in Karanganyar, Central Java.

The government has prepared these sports facilities to improve the development of potential athletes and is expected to support athletes’ achievements on the world stage, said Dito.

The sports facility will be equipped with sports science so that it becomes a center for data and information development to achieve more positive results in the Olympics.

“For example, I think athletics, swimming, and gymnastics, there is a lot of potential for medals, so that’s what we hope for,” said Dito as reported by BetweenWednesday (28/8).

No less important, said Dito, is that the government and stakeholders must prepare a coaching team to more competent medical personnel to achieve the target. (Z-6)
