MINISTER of Youth and Sports Dito Ariotedjo invited the public to grow support for all sports that compete on the international stage, as shown for football in the appearance of the U-23 Indonesian National Team.
“We want in the future not only in football, but in other sports, when competing for the Olympics or world championships, people’s love for sports, the national team and our Indonesian players must be grown,” said Dito as reported by Antara, Friday (9/5 ).
He conveyed this following taking part in an event to watch together or watch together (nobar) the Indonesian U-23 National Team play-off match once morest Guinea on Thursday (9/5) evening in the courtyard of the West Kotawaringin Regent’s Office, Central Kalimantan.
The Minister of Youth and Sports, who was accompanied by the Acting Regent of West Kotawaringin, Budi Santosa, appreciated the enthusiasm of thousands of local residents for taking part in the nobar event.
Previously, extraordinary support was also shown by the Indonesian people who took part in nobar events in various regions of the country when Garuda Muda competed in the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup in Qatar and ended the championship in fourth place.
Dito hopes that great support for football can also be shown for all other sports competing on the international stage, especially at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Until now, there are at least 21 Indonesian athletes who have confirmed that they will appear in the world’s highest sporting competition in Paris.
The athletes come from a number of sports, namely weightlifting, badminton, bicycle racing, rock climbing, artistic gymnastics, shooting, wave surfing, rowing, athletics and archery.
Dito added that prayers and community support are very important as part of the athletes’ strength to make achievements in competitions that will increasingly make the Red and White name famous on the world stage. (Z-6)
