THE Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Indonesia (Menpora) Dito Ariotedjo hopes that with the National Working Meeting (Rakernas) of the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) it can focus on discussing the 2024 Aceh North Sumatra National Sports Week.
This was conveyed by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Dito, when opening the KONI National Working Meeting which carried the theme “With a united spirit we are champions, make the XXI/2024 PON Aceh-North Sumatra a success which took place in Jakarta, Wednesday (3/7).
“At this National Working Meeting, we hope that the implementation of the 2024 Aceh-North Sumatra PON will be a shared focus between the government, KONI and all sports branches. Two weeks ago, together with (KONI General Chairperson) Mr. Marciano (Norman), I attended a Limited Meeting to provide assurance to the President that the 2024 Aceh-North Sumatra PON will continue to run according to schedule and will also be a successful event,” said Dito as reported by Between.
The 2024 Aceh-North Sumatra PON is the first PON to be held in two provinces since the first edition of PON I in 1948 in Surakarta City, and is the first PON to be attended by the most provinces, namely 38 provinces including the New Autonomous Region (DOB) and also the presence of the National Capital City (IKN).
The Minister of Youth and Sports advised that the Field of Play should not have any mistakes. In addition, the youngest minister in the cabinet also emphasized to pay attention to medical.
“Medical personnel at each venue must be prepared thoroughly so that there is a quick reaction/quick action if there is a condition that we do not want,” said Dito.

Dito also conveyed that the crucial point in this national working meeting is for KONI Pusat to be able to encourage sports federations in Indonesia to focus on developing young athletes and to be able to utilize collaboration with the Cibubur Youth Elite Sport Center.
“Earlier, I have conveyed several crucial points where in this national working meeting we hope, firstly KONI encourages national sports federations to focus on early age development where later they can collaborate using the Cibubur Youth Elite Sport Center which is ready for use this year,” said Dito.
Meanwhile, Marciano explained that the implementation of the 21st PON Aceh-North Sumatra in 2024 must be prepared optimally.
“From the Minister of Youth and Sports’ emphasis earlier, we want to emphasize with the sports branch leaders, with the KONI Province that sent its athletes to Aceh and North Sumatra and the Grand Committee (PB) of PON XXI Aceh and North Sumatra so that on September 8 to September 20, 2024 it can be implemented as well as possible,” said Marciano.
