THE MINISTER OF TRANSPORTATION Budi Karya Sumadi expressed his appreciation to the Ministry of BUMN together with the BUMN for organizing free homecoming during the Lebaran Transport (Angleb) 2024.

This was conveyed by the Minister of Transportation when attending the 2024 Fun Homecoming Flag Off with BUMN at Silang Monas Square, Jakarta, Friday (5/4).

“I really appreciate the activities of the Ministry of BUMN to gather all BUMNs for this free homecoming activity. Because indirectly this helps our brothers and sisters who are less fortunate and on the other hand helps those who previously rode motorbikes switch to bus mass transportation,” said the Minister of Transportation.

The Minister of Transportation further advised people who will use public transportation to prioritize safety. “For people in the village who are going on holiday by public transportation, choose a driver who has received a road permit, don’t choose a shooting driver. Because according to research, these illegal vehicles and drivers are the ones who mostly have accidents,” added the Minister of Transportation.

BUMN Minister Erick Thohir said that this free homecoming activity was an effort to encourage safe and comfortable homecoming activities. “We are encouraging a collaboration program with 88 BUMNs which this year will be able to send home more than 90,000 homecoming travelers, one of which uses vehicles such as the buses that we can see today,” he said.

BUMN Minister Erick said that the free homecoming participants with BUMN had various goals, including 30,000 participants to East Java, 25,000 participants to Central Java, more than 1,000 participants to West Java, and more than 5,000 participants to the Sumatra region.

“This is part of our concern for BUMN, as directed by the President to be able to ease the obstacles faced by society when purchasing power decreases and God willing, we BUMN can be present to shape society,” he continued.

Also present at this activity were the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta, Heru Budi Hartono, the Head of the National Police Traffic Corps Aan Suhanan, and the Main Director of Jasa Rahardja Rivan A Purwantono. (Z-7)
