The Minister of the Interior, Guillermo Francos, questioned those responsible for the measure of force: “We have to ask ourselves if we have to continue with the same union leadership for so many years or we have to democratize.” However, he clarified that the Casa Rosada will not cut off dialogue with the unions.

The Government is trying to do damage control following the paro general this Thursday. “It is a wrong attitude on the part of the CGT, but I don’t think I have to cut the dialogue“, stated the Minister of the Interior, Guillermo Francos, in the program Truth Consequence of TN. Although he clarified: “Argentina is not built in Pablo Moyano’s terms.”

Along the same lines, Francos stated: “We have to stop with this thing that 4 or 5 gentlemen are the owners of the workers of Argentina”. And he added: “We have to ask ourselves if we have to continue with the same union leadership for so many years or we have to democratize”.

Regarding the confrontation with the labor union, Francos stated that “we are going to talk. The Government has nothing once morest union representation. Yes, he is once morest these measures that are political.”. And he warned: “Sometimes you pull so hard, causes it to cut. Let’s try not to throw so much.”

“We are considering some modifications to the Base Law and the fiscal package. One of them has to do with the RIGI,” the official acknowledged. “This is being discussed now, along with other changes, how can it be profits”he explained.

Regarding the Bases Law, Francos indicated that the expectation is that “there will be a ruling on Tuesday” and it will be discussed on the premises “next week.” “If the law is approved in general, it will be a very important step,” he said.

The last 24 hours were of maximum tension for the government of Javier Miley. To the bogged down discussion over the Bases Law in the Senate was added a general strike throughout the country, called by the CGT. The Government rejected the forceful measure and tried to downplay the importance of the workers’ support.

At a press conference, the CGT celebrated what they noted was almost total support for the strike. In addition, they asked the government to “take note” of society’s claims. And they warned that “They are not going to sit idly by” in the coming months.

“Salaries have grown more than prices in recent weeks, in real terms,” the official noted.
