This is how the Minister of Sports, Jaime Pizarro, reflected following touring with the Governor of Ñuble, Óscar Crisóstomo and the mayor of Chillán, Camilo Benavente, the new BMX track in Chillán, whose works are 80 percent complete.

Pizarro praised the new infrastructure, anticipated that it will empower new athletes and will be the epicenter of various competitions.

The mayor of Chillán, Camilo Benavente, emphasized that the new work anchored in the Quilamapu Complex is inspired by the positive results obtained by the Chillanejos decades ago. “We are happy because we are advancing at a steady pace in this sports infrastructure that we have materialized between the Municipality and the Regional Government. The Seremi of Sports, Julio Jorquera, concluded that “we are leaving sport as a priority at the regional level, the BMX track is at a high level to receive national and international competitions. “We are going to continue working together with the municipality, with the Regional Government and with the Ministry of Sports to articulate sports management for the benefit of the communities.”

The president of the Chillán Bicicross Club, Alfredo Mariño, revealed that in April, the track, in white gear, will host the third and fourth dates of the National. “Everyone who wants to come and see it and enjoy it,” he stressed.

The work is being carried out by the company Constructora Reving Ltda. The investment is Th$1,591,342, resources contributed by the National Sports Institute (IND), the Municipality of Chillán and the Regional Government of Ñuble.

The project promoted by the Municipality of Chillán includes a dirt and asphalt circuit 360 meters long and two starters, one of five meters for local competitions and another of eight meters for international events. It will also have perimeter closure, stands for 250 people, landscaping, underground electrical wiring and accessibility.
