MINISTER of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Tito Karnavian admitted that from the start the government had provided support for the 2024 elections. However, Tito said, this support did not mean intervention or interference, but provided support for the General Election Commission (KPU) because it was impossible for it to work alone.
This was expressed by Tito Karnavian at Commission II DPR RI during a working meeting or hearing (RDP) with election organizers, including the Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri), on Monday (25/3).
“Among them, starting with the preparation of population data, this is in accordance with the law, starting with DAK2 and DP4 population data, giving full access rights to the KPU to go to dukcapil, pick up electronic KTP recording and so on,” said Tito in meeting at the DPR RI Building, Jakarta, Monday (25/3).
“Then during the campaign, we also provided support apart from the TNI-Polri, there were also Linmas there. “Community protection is a network of local government and Satpol PP,” he added.
Then, Tito claimed that during printing and distribution logistics, especially to printing houses, the government did not interfere. However, the KPU asked for distribution support from regional governments, especially in difficult remote areas.
In fact, said Tito, election organizers asked for support due to a lack of operational vehicles.
