THE MINISTER of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Tito Karnavian revealed that 450 state civil servants (ASN) had been reported to the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) for violating neutrality in the 2024 Election. This was revealed by Tito in a working meeting or hearing meeting (RDP) of Commission II of the DPR RI with election organizers, including the Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri), on Monday (25/3).

“Regarding ASN neutrality, there were 450 ASNs who were reported to Bawaslu for violating neutrality. “Then 240 ASNs were proven to have violated and were given sanctions and 180 ASNs have been followed up by the PPK with sanctions,” said Tito in a hearing at Commission II, at the DPR RI Building, Jakarta, Monday (25/3).

Tito said there were five categories of neutrality violations during the 2024 elections carried out by ASN. The first, make a post, comment, share, like, join or follow the group or account of the prospective winner.

Second, participate in socialization campaign activities to introduce prospective candidates or political parties.

“Participate in outreach or social media campaigns for prospective candidates,” said Tito.

Fourth, holding activities that lead to alignment with political parties or candidates or pairs of candidates participating in the election, before and following the campaign period, including invitations, meetings and giving goods to ASN.
