Minister of Health Announces Major Decisions for Juvenile Protection Amidst Recent Nursery Violence Incident

The Minister of Health, Firas Al-Abyadh, confirmed that the meetings of the Juvenile Protection Committee in the Ministry reached several decisions following the recent incident of violence in a nursery.

Al-Abyadh announced, in an interview with “Voice of All Lebanon”, that among these decisions is the issue of prior control procedures in terms of intensifying sudden visits to nurseries, in addition to the issue of cameras that must be operated to record what is happening in the nursery, while anyone who does not abide by these decisions. He is subject to measures amounting to the withdrawal of his license or the closure of his nursery.

Al-Abyadh indicated that with regard to the issue of education and training for the workers in these homes, it must be verified that they possess the necessary certificates, noting that the Ministry makes sure of this when giving the license to the nursery, but when the workers change, it must also ensure that they are at the required level.

As for counterfeit medicines, Al-Abyadh stressed that the ministry is cooperating with the security forces to limit the illegal entry of these medicines, and it is also cooperating with the Pharmacists Syndicate to ensure that these medicines are not stored in pharmacies, and whoever does so, measures will be taken once morest him that amount to closing the pharmacy.

Al-Abyadh pointed out that the ministry has transferred the file of introducing forged vitamins to the Public Prosecution, stressing that the inspectors are doing their part and there will be no leniency with the violators, hoping that the judiciary will take the most severe measures once morest them.
