Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population, held a meeting in the presence of Dr. Nihal Balbaa, Deputy Governor of Beheira, with members of the House of Representatives and the Senate, to review the medical services provided to citizens in the governorate, and to listen to the members’ demands about expanding medical services and working to implement them to serve the people of the governorate.
This came at the conclusion of the Minister’s field tour today, Tuesday, in Beheira Governorate, as part of a series of field tours conducted periodically by the Minister of Health and Population to health facilities in all governorates of the Republic, to follow up on the progress of work and ensure the quality of medical services for citizens, in addition to following up on the executive position of work in national projects. Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, explained that the minister listened during the meeting to a detailed explanation about the health system in the governorate, which includes 76 hospitals, in addition to reviewing the situation regarding the construction work of medical facilities in the governorate, where the minister directed in this regard to quickly develop and raise the efficiency. Abdel Ghaffar continued that the meeting reviewed the results of activating the Regional Health Council in Beheira Governorate, which aims for all citizens in the governorate to enjoy a safe, healthy life through an integrated health system characterized by availability and quality, pointing out that the council serves the ministry’s strategy to improve public health in Egypt. .
Abdul Ghaffar added that the Minister praised during the meeting the optimal activation of the Beheira Governorate of the Regional Health Council, which has become a model to be emulated, noting that the Beheira Governorate is one of the leading governorates in coordination with the Ministry to achieve the best results through the Council.
Abdul Ghaffar pointed out the formation of 5 coordination committees to follow up and facilitate the implementation of the required tasks on the ground, pointing out that the coordination committees include disaster and crisis management, presidential initiatives, reproductive health and family planning, school health and student nutrition, and youth health.
Abdul Ghaffar continued that the Minister was keen to listen to the demands of members of the House of Representatives and the Senate and discuss methods for implementing them to serve the people of the governorate. The Minister directed the relevant ministry leaders to intensify the services provided to citizens in the governorate through the General Authority for Health Insurance, in addition to working to establish hospitals for mental health and addiction treatment.
