Fayyad said: “I was not wrong when I requested an advance for the electricity plan, and on Wednesday the Arabic version will be sent for discussion next Friday.”
He pointed out that work is being done in an open manner, indicating that there is an intention to work to implement the electricity plan.
Fayyad stressed that if the electricity plan is approved, the electricity supply will increase from 3 to 9 hours, and with the help of Egypt, Jordan and America, we can reach 10 hours.
He continued, “The US ambassador, Dorothy Shea, pledged to help Lebanon in importing Egyptian gas and Jordan’s electricity.”
Fayyad added that he “will reveal who is behind the delay in approving the electricity plan in the Council of Ministers, and I do not expect strong opposition to it, but notes, considering that if the electricity plan is not approved, we will be costing the Lebanese $70 million every month.”
He stressed, “I am not waiting for the electricity plan to be obstructed to make a play, but we will uncover the obstruction.”
