Burkina: Minister of Communication Valérie Kaboré regrets the expulsion of a journalist from TV5 Monde
Ouagadougou, May 15, 2022 (AIB) – The Minister of Communication Valérie Kaboré regretted this Sunday, the expulsion yesterday Saturday, of the media correspondent TV5 Monde in Burkina Faso Fanny Kabré during a demonstration.
In a press release sent this Sunday evening to the AIB, the Minister of Communication Valérie Kaboré recalls that “in the followingnoon of May 14, 2022, the Franco-Burkinabe journalist Fanny Kabré, correspondent for the TV5 Monde media in Burkina Faso, was expelled during a demonstration while she was there in the exercise of her profession.
The press release signed by Minister Valérie Kaboré indicates that “the Ministry of Communication, Culture, Arts and Tourism, as the supervisory ministry, regrets this act”.
“The department reaffirms its attachment to the freedom of the press dearly acquired by long years of struggle by professionals, and invites the whole of society to always work towards the preservation of this achievement”, indicates Minister Valérie Kaboré .
The Ministry in charge of Communication, through the voice of its first official, “reassures all the actors of the national and international press, the national and international opinion of its commitment to preserve and promote freedom of the press”.
