Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Attends First Cabinet Meeting at IKN, Discusses What

MINISTER of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (Menpan-Rebiro) Abdullah Azwar Anas attended the Plenary Cabinet Meeting (SKP) in the Capital City of the Archipelago, Penajam Paser Utara Regency, East Kalimantan, Monday (12/08). The Plenary Cabinet Meeting was led by President Joko Widodo, attended by Vice President KH Ma’ruf Amin and ministers and heads of institutions from the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet at the Garuda Palace IKN.

The SKP discussed the sustainability of the IKN until the transition of government. Today’s SKP is the first Plenary Cabinet Session held at the IKN, right before the 79th Indonesian Independence Day on August 17, 2024.

Before attending the SKP, Menpan Abdullah Azwar Anas conducted a review of several infrastructures in the IKN. On Sunday (11/08) Minister Anas together with Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi and Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin reviewed the IKN Core Government Center Area (KIPP).

In addition, Minister Anas also reviewed the residential towers for state civil servants (ASN) in the IKN. Based on information from the PUPR Ministry, the number of towers targeted will be 47 Residential Towers consisting of around 2,820 Residential Units. Of the 47 Towers, the number of towers that will be occupied by ASN Employees in the initial stage is 29 Towers or around 1,740 Residential Units. The rest will be occupied by TNI soldiers/Polri members.

To improve coordination and collaboration between Government Agencies, in addition to digital support, a new work pattern is also being implemented through the implementation of shared offices, namely in one office building or even on the same floor there will be several government agencies (between K/L groups).

This “shared office” scheme prioritizes connectivity between ministries/institutions in the form of physical connectivity (buildings) and digital connectivity supported by a smart office model. “The shared office concept is carried out to support the transformation of changes in the way of working through flexible working arrangements with informal and digital-based workspaces,” concluded Anas.

In addition to reviewing the IKN KIPP and ASN residential towers, Minister Anas also accompanied the President of the Republic of Indonesia to review the MBH Reservoir in the IKN Central Government Core Area. The reservoir is one of the environmental sustainability concepts in the development of the IKN which functions as a water conservation infrastructure.

After reviewing the reservoir area, Minister Anas reviewed the National Axis in the Core Area of ​​the IKN Government Center. The National Axis in the IKN KIPP is an open space that symbolizes the harmonious relationship between nature, humans and the noble values ​​of culture.

The review of the MBH Reservoir and the National Axis was led by Indonesian President Joko Widodo, accompanied by Indonesian Vice President KH Ma’ruf Amin, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto, Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko, and ministers of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet.
