Minister of Gender Equality and Family Kim Hyun-sook said that he would consider making face photos more recognizable when disclosing sex offenders’ personal information.

In an interview with YTN radio this morning, Minister Kim said, “It is difficult for the public to recognize the identity of minor sex offender Kim Geun-sik just by looking at the photos. We are going to review it,” he said.

The purpose is to make it easier for the public to identify the sex offenders, which were only revealed as flat photos, by making them three-dimensional with 3D avatars.

When the moderator asked where the sex offender’s identity was revealed following the abolition of the Ministry of Leisure, Minister Kim said, “I am in charge of the newly established Ministry of Health and Welfare Population and Family Gender Equality Headquarters.”

He added, “Support for victims of violence is focused on victim counseling and facility protection.

On the 15th, women’s groups, who held a large-scale rally, said, “It is difficult to agree with the claim that the Yun Seok-yeol administration is using women’s human rights as a tool for political struggle.”

Minister Kim emphasized that “one of the core values of the Yun Seok-yeol administration is the protection of human rights,” and emphasized that “how to deliver public services to the people is the key, rather than using it as a tool for political conflict.”
