Good news for millions of Italian motorists returning from vacation: the price of unleaded gasoline reaches its lowest point while diesel revises its price to last year’s levels. Let’s start with the record low for unleaded gasoline which, as reported by Tgcom24, falls to 1.811 euros per liter. A price that hasn’t been seen since January 30 and that can make the last vacationers smile who will take advantage of the last week of August and the first of September to travel with their car.
Diesel also falls to new sensational lows. And if the drop in gasoline is a record, the new price of diesel is even more so. In fact, fuel is now trading at 1.686 euros per liter on average: it is the same price as July 6, 2023, more than a year ago. Collecting and analyzing these data – later published by Tgcom24 – “Quotidiani Energia” on the basis of those communicated by the managers to the Osservaprezzi del Mimit, the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy.
The record drops are those related to self-service. If we instead analyze the “served” the average prices are still falling: the green at 1.958 euros per liter – a decrease of almost 3 cents compared to the survey of August 9 – the diesel instead at 1.833 euros per liter – about 3 cents less than the price recorded before the summer break.
