After touching it, the driver of the car followed the minibus which picked up speed following the contact between the two vehicles. The driver of the minibus then lost control of his vehicle before hitting a pole. The minibus ended up on its side.
The driver of the car, in a state of shock, was counted among the victims by the police. The minibus was therefore carrying, according to the latest information, 17 people, one of whom, the driver, died. The other 16 occupants were lightly injured, according to police spokesman Wouter Bruyns.
