Mini-chalets with a view of the Rhône plain

A pretty little contemporary chalet. With just enough furniture to eat, sit, sleep or comfortably admire the view overlooking the Rhône plain. This is in summary the architectural concept of the Swiss Cabins, a set of nine huts located in Giettes (VS), to which nine others will be added by the end of November. “They were built using an eco-responsible approach: their facades are made of local larch wood and the rest of the materials come from the surrounding area or the neighboring valleys, which earned them the “Swiss made” label, explains Hugo Pozzo di Borgo, Chief Operating Officer of Definitely Different Group.

One of them, open to all guests, is dedicated to sport. Four rooms follow one another, each with an invitation to exercise differently: punching bag and stress relief, followed by wooden treadmills, yoga and meditation, then sauna and a bucket of ice water.

Fondue and huskies

Several hotel services aim to facilitate the logistics of the stay. In addition to daily cleaning, a food truck electric delivers breakfast every morning to the village square. Inspired by mountain grocery stores, it offers local products and specialties from the chef of the restaurant Les Cerniers, located below, in a logic of zero waste (jars and glass bottles). The rest of the day, it is possible to have meals delivered. “We put all the equipment and ingredients necessary to prepare a fondue and we can bring casseroles of simmered dishes that just need to be reheated, such as beef bourguignon, risotto, blanquette”, continues Hugo Pozzo di Borgo. For a more gourmet meal, the team can whip up the wild cuisine of chef Jérémie Cordier.

In addition to electric mountain bikes and hiking trails available to residents, unusual activities are organized on request in connection with huskies throughout the seasons. The team collaborates with a former world champion of mushing, Violaine Grau, to discover her universe through cani-hiking or cuddle therapy.
