Minecraft: Dungeons and Dragons DLC includes dice rolls, spells and more

Given the success of Baldur’s Gate 3, Minecraft launched its newest expansion pack this week, which promises to be a real gift for Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) fans.

In partnership with Wizards of the Coast and Everbloom Games, the expansion takes players on an adventure in the Forgotten Realms, allowing them to explore classic locations like Candlekeep, Icewind Dale, Revel’s End, and more.

The most interesting part regarding Minecraft’s new DLC is that it introduces new mechanics inspired by the classic tabletop RPG, although many Minecraft players may not be familiar with them. However, it is worth noting that it does not transform the game into a D&D simulator, maintaining the same structure as Minecraft.

The DLC allows players to unlock various spells, customize stats, roll D20 dice, talk to NPCs, level up their character and also choose between four classes: barbarian, paladin, rogue and wizard, allowing you to even throw fireballs. fire with your character.

There are also new monsters to face, including goblins, dragons, mind flayers, mimics, displacer beasts, and beholders, among other iconic D&D creatures. Additionally, the expansion brings a new interface with mission log, inventory and glossary screens.

Along with the launch, Minecraft is introducing a free adventure made for third-tier characters called Lightning Keep, where players have to save refugees from a dragon. Additionally, Wizards of the Coast has released a new Minecraft-themed Monstrous Compendium, providing information regarding Minecraft mobs, such as a creeper’s defense stats or an ender dragon’s dexterity.

The expansion is available on the Minecraft Marketplace for 1,510 Minecoins.
