The Ministry of Domestic Trade (MINCIN) updated its official website on Wednesday regarding the distribution of basic food basket products in July in two Cuban provinces. It also detailed that extra and free donations will be distributed.

According to official information, overdue products from June are still being delivered, but those for the current month, July, have already been announced, as is logical. Ariel Fernández, director of the MINCIN group in Sancti Spíritus, detailed the particularities of this distribution.

During the month of July, an additional kilogram of rice will be delivered free of charge to all consumers in Sancti Spiritus. In addition, 2 pounds of sugar, coffee, oil and eggs in the current month of July.

Fernández said that the delivery of compote for June will be completed and the distribution for July will begin. In addition, yogurt will be given to children aged 7 to 13 and powdered milk will be guaranteed for children aged 0 to 1.

As for meat products, Half a pound of sausage will be given per consumer, because there is no chicken, beef or fish to deliver at the moment.

Basic basket for July, details the MINCIN by province

Since Sancti Spíritus is the host province of the 26th, the official says that in the distribution of personal hygiene products for July all consumers in the territory will receive a washing soap and a toilet soap. For this same reason, the delivery of other additional products made up in a bag of food, the contents of which will be reported in due course.

All these products would be available in the network of warehouses before July 25, at least in the central province, they said.

The other Cuban territory where MINCIN gave details for the July Basic Basket was Matanzas.

The distribution of the 7 pounds of rice corresponding to the standard family basket for the month of July has ended in the warehouses of the main municipality in the city of Matanzas. This week, work was being done on the delivery of 1 kg of rice in the areas of Matanzas East and West.

Regarding sugar, workers from the Provincial Food Company were checking the quality of the refined sugar available before proceeding with its distribution. But there was no date for delivery, while the coffee from the warehouse was available in 89 of the 139 warehouses in the territory, according to officials.
