The Democratic Party of Korea has decided to strategically nominate candidates for the mayor of Seoul in the local elections on June 1.
At a non-captain meeting held at Daejeon City Hall on the 13th, Ho-jung Yun, chairman of the emergency countermeasures committee, said, “In addition to new attempts, a great victory decision is inevitable for a sure victory in the local election.”
The day before, the Democratic Party’s Public Official Election Candidate Recommendation and Management Committee discussed how to designate Seoul as a strategic nomination area, and the final decision was made at the non-captaining committee on the same day.
“Even if there is pain in cutting the flesh, our party will make a bold decision to make this local election a win-win election,” said Vice Chairman Yoon. said.
Currently, six candidates are registered in the Democratic Party, including former representative Song Young-gil, former lawmaker Park Ju-min, former lawmaker Jin-ae Kim, former lawmaker Jeong Bong-ju, lawyer Kim Joo-young, and former Jeollabuk-do council secretary Kim Song-il. However, with the strategic nomination decision of the non-captainer on that day, the nomination for the mayor of Seoul returned to the starting point.
