Let those who plot without much intelligence know that even possession of the electoral register does not allow one to have a single valid sponsor since it is required on the sponsorship form to mention the expiry date of the ECOWAS national identity card , information which does not appear in the electoral file.
During the session for handing over the sponsorship forms to the candidates’ representatives, the General Directorate of Elections clearly informed them that it had added the expiry date of the ECOWAS identity card to the sponsorship form so that candidates who hold the electoral register cannot make useful use of it. Thus the candidates who have the electoral register and those who do not will all start on the same basis.
