Milwaukee Brewers Sweep Texas Rangers: Max Scherzer Climbs Strikeout List in 6-2 Victory

ARLINGTON — Max Scherzer moved to 11th on the strikeout list just before going down on an erratic moment when he forced in a pair of runs and the NL Central-leading Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Milwaukee Brewers 6-2. Texas Rangers on Sunday for a three-game sweep.

Corey Seager hit his 23rd homer for the AL West-leading Rangers (72-52), who matched their career high with four losses in a row.

Ninth-in-order Tyrone Taylor hit a two-run triple and scored three times for Milwaukee (68-57), which holds a three-game division lead over the Chicago Cubs.

Brewers starter Adrian Houser (5-4) struck out seven and allowed one run in five innings. Closer Devin Williams had 30 saves in 33 chances following coming on for the final out with two men on and one unearned run inside.

Scherzer (12-5) had won his first three starts for Texas since his trade from the New York Mets.

For the Brewers, the Dominicans Carlos Santana 5-1, with an RBI; Willy Adames 4-0, with an RBI. Puerto Rican Victor Caratini 5-1, with a run scored. Venezuelan Andruw Monasterio 5-0.

For Rangers, the Dominican Ezequiel Durán 3-2, with a run scored; Leody Taveras 4-0, with an RBI. Cuban JP Martínez 4-0.
