Former president Miloš Zeman has been hospitalized at the Faculty Hospital in Motola since Thursday. Former Zeman spokesman Jiří Ovčáček Blesk newspaper wrote that health problems are also related to diabetes. “He is expected to be hospitalized for about a week,” he said.
The hospital itself informed about the situation in more detail on Friday. “Mr. Miloš Zeman is hospitalized after the operation he underwent yesterday at the Motol General Hospital. The reason for the operation was critical lack of blood supply to the lower limb caused by a blood clot, he underwent a hybrid procedure with artery bypass and blood supply restoration,” the press release reads.
At the same time, the hospital stated that Zeman’s condition is serious. “Mr. Miloš Zeman remains hospitalized, he is in a stable but serious condition. The prognosis for the length of hospitalization cannot be determined now,” the statement reads, adding that the hospital will publish more detailed information with the consent of Miloš Zeman’s family on Monday, March 18.
