IN a strong show of solidarity, millions of Yemenis took to the streets in various provinces on Friday (23/8) to support the Palestinian people and condemn the ongoing Israeli massacre in the Gaza Strip.

Under banners reading With Gaza and Al-Aqsa and Jihad and Steadfastness Until Victory, a massive march filled Sabeen Square in Sanaa as well as more than 200 other locations across Yemeni provinces. The demonstration was held to express unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and support the actions of the Yemeni Armed Forces in solidarity with Gaza.

The morning protests spread across the provinces of Saada, Raymah, and Marib, as well as some districts of Taiz, Amran, and Ibb. The demonstrators reaffirmed their commitment to the Gaza resistance and stressed their support through military operations, official and popular activities, and economic boycotts of the enemy.

The statement from the Yemeni protesters urged the Axis of Jerusalem, Jihad and Resistance to deal a heavy blow to the enemies of humanity, calling for a response that would, “Bring relief to the hearts of the believers.”

The statement also reaffirmed Yemen’s firm commitment to supporting the oppressed Palestinian people, promising continued weekly demonstrations until victory is achieved.

Addressing the Palestinian people, the statement expressed pride in their extraordinary resilience that defied expectations and thwarted the hopes of their enemies. “We stand with you until the imminent victory. God willing,” the statement said, as reported by The Palestinian Information Center.

The message also challenged Arab and Islamic nations more broadly by urging them to recognize Gaza as a test of their faith and humanity. “Your silence is failure and your hesitation is betrayal,” the statement warned, citing the Quran to emphasize the moral and spiritual duty to support Gaza.
