The company signed a strategic memorandum of understanding with INTRO Technology, the technology arm of INTRO Holding Group, to establish the Kemet Data Center in the Suez Canal Economic Zone in Egypt, with investments amounting to $450 million.
This memorandum represents the first strategic partnership between the two companies, and aims to provide cloud solutions, the Internet of Things (IoT), and digital transformation services for regional and international markets, with a special focus on the Africa and Middle East region.
The Kemet Data Center will be developed in two phases, with a total area of 80,000 square metres. These components are key to improving user experience and increasing business efficiency.
The center will be strategically located in the Arab Republic of Egypt, where its advanced digital infrastructure will provide an ideal platform for companies looking for secure and efficient cloud operations. As part of its commitment to sustainability, the facility will integrate solar energy to reduce its carbon footprint, while providing advanced services that keep pace with market requirements.
Engineer Maqbool Al Wahaibi, CEO of Oman Data Park, commented on the partnership, saying: “The strategic cooperation with INTRO Technology represents an important step in the journey of Oman Data Park, as it will enable us to expand our presence in the region. The Kemet Data Center will not only enhance our ability to meet the growing demand for digital solutions, but will also play a pivotal role in supporting economic development in the Middle East region. We are proud to bring our expertise in cloud services and data center management to this project, and look forward to developing innovative solutions that meet the needs of growing businesses internationally.”
Oman Data Park’s role in the project includes providing a range of commercial services, including supervising the design, providing consultation on construction operations, and managing the daily operations of the center. This collaboration highlights the growing efforts made by Oman Data Park to support digital transformation and promote economic growth in the region, strengthening its position as one of the major players in the technology and cloud services sector.
Commenting on the importance of the MoU, Mamdouh Abbas, Founder and Chairman of INTRO Holding Group, said: “Through our partnership with Oman Data Park, we will combine our deep experience in cloud solutions with their extensive experience in managing data center services. The Kemet Data Center will be the cornerstone for driving digital transformation in Egypt, and strengthening its position as a vital center for cloud and data services in the region.”
Through this partnership, Oman Data Park and INTRO Technology are ideally positioned to meet the growing demand for cloud services, Internet of Things, and digital transformation solutions. The two companies will also benefit from Egypt’s strategic location and its advanced digital infrastructure, which enhances their ability to provide effective and innovative solutions to the markets in that region.
