The restructuring plan for Fisker GmbH, which has the largest insolvency in Styria to date in terms of liabilities, was accepted on Thursday at the Civil Regional Court in Graz by the creditors in consultation with the credit protection associations. Claims made so far amounting to around 3.8 billion euros are to be satisfied with a 20 percent quota, according to a press release from Fisker.
The restructuring plan is subject to various conditions precedent that must be met by September 15, it said. “Among other things, an agreement must be reached with major creditors and this must be approved by the US bankruptcy court responsible for Fisker US,” was the reason given. Insolvency administrator Philipp Casper said in response to an APA query that there are three specific conditions that still need to be met before the quota can be paid out. 290 creditors are affected. Of the 3.8 billion euros in claims, only a fraction has been recognized.
Fisker GmbH, founded in 2021 and based in Graz, is a subsidiary of the US electric vehicle manufacturer Fisker Automotive and primarily manages the contract manufacturing management of Fisker electric vehicles. Around 10,000 Fisker Oceans have been built at Magna in Graz to date. However, production has now been discontinued. Cost-cutting measures have been taken at Fisker GmbH. Of the previously almost 50 employees, only around 20 are now employed.
