Asunción, IP Agency.- The Yacyretá Binational Entity (EBY) awarded the operation and maintenance works of the sanitary sewage system of Encarnación and Cambyretá, department of Itapúa, built by the institution, as a replacement work in the area of ​​influence of the dam.

The new contract, valid since October 1 and lasting 20 months, with the new operator Deco SRL, was signed for a sum considerably lower than that previously granted, and represents savings of the order of G. 3,500 million, an amount that It will be used for social works.

With this strategic decision, adopted by the current management of EBY, a more economical service is guaranteed without sacrificing the quality of preventive maintenance, daily operation and remote monitoring of 61 pumping stations, as well as a treatment plant 24 hours a day. every day.

The same services will be provided at a cost of 343,000,000 guaraníes per month, compared to 515,000,000 guaraníes per month for the previous operator.

The executive director of EBY, Luís Benítez, underlined the importance of this achievement, stating: “This contract represents significant economic savings thanks to the EBY initiative. “We reaffirm our commitment to efficiently manage resources to continually improve the services we offer to the community.”

And finally he added that: “This savings will be used for actions in favor of the people, such as the total solution of drinking water problems in the housing complexes built by our institution in the districts of Encarnación and Cambyretá.”
