Millionaire losses were left by a fire inside a parking lot located in the sector of Carrera 8 and Calle 9 of Floridablanca. The affected vehicles were a turbo and an urban service bus.

According to witnesses, at 5 in the morning on Monday, January 1, a flyer fell on a polyshade, a polyethylene mesh, causing the conflagration.

The mesh began to melt, falling on an urban bus of the Unitransa company, internal number 248, generating total losses in the vehicle. The driver left the passenger vehicle the night before and encountered the mishap in the morning.

“That was ahead of the main headquarters of the Floridablanca Transit Directorate. The owner lives in the United States and with the money he got there he bought a bus. We are going to see if the insurance responds or the parking lot, although we know that it was a fortuitous case,” said an acquaintance of the bus owner.

The other vehicle affected was a turbo-type truck, with SLI-386 plates, which was also left with total losses due to the fire.

The causes, according to the information provided by the parking lot, would have been a flyer that fell on the protective mesh.

“I also left my bus at that place. The melted polyshade affected my roof, although the damage is minor than what happened to my colleague. Wait now to see who responds,” said the owner of one of the affected vehicles.

The Floridablanca Firefighters were in charge of controlling the fire inside the parking lot and preventing other vehicles from causing further damage.

The report from the authorities was awaited to confirm whether the causes of the conflagration were associated with a pyrotechnic device.
