Milei got Marra and Reidel a place on the new Council of Economic Advisors | They will design “long-term economic policies and measures”

While areas dependent on the national State continue to be closed, President Javier Milei created within the government structure a new conchabo for his closest collaborators, the Council of Economic Advisors. It will be headed by Ramiro Marra and Demian Reidel, and its mission will be to design long-term policies and measures.

The announcement was made this morning following the president met with both yesterday to propose this idea that revives another similar one that he had launched last year during the presidential campaign.

In those days, the idea was that he would be advised by his previous small table made up of Carlos Rodríguez, Darío Epstein, Roque Fernández and Emilio Ocampo. But once the runoff was won, Milei began to distance himself from them and opened places for new allies.

This time, the chosen one was Marra, who yesterday suffered a hard blow in political terms, when he was stripped of the presidency of the La Libertad Avanza (LLA) bloc in the Buenos Aires Legislature. His confrontations with Karina Milei raised doubts regarding his leadership and yesterday he was called to the Quinta de Olivos to confirm his departure from him.

In that same talk he was informed of the fall of his legislative leadership and his arrival as advisor to the head of state, an exchange of responsibilities that sounds pompous but that, strictly speaking, leaves him in the institutional background.

The echoes regarding the creation of the Council and the arrival of Marra to the presidential small circle were celebrated by the Minister of Economy, Luis Caputo: “How good Ramiro!”, said the head of the Treasury Palace briefly.

Marra was a student of Milei at the University of Salvador and entered the Legislature of the City of Buenos Aires in 2021. He headed the libertarian bloc, following serving for a time alongside former Economy Minister Roberto Lavagna in the defunct Federal Consensus alliance.

Another of those who will be in charge will be Demian Reidel, who is already an advisor to the Government and who, in addition to being a physicist and economist, was vice president of the Central Bank during the last administration of Federico Sturzenegger.

According to reports, the Council of Economic Advisors will be formalized in the coming days but it is already known that it will work on the design of economic policies and long-term measures, according to official sources.
