Son the some 1,600 proposals from 681 classes and 82 institutes spread over the 81 provinces representing Italian regionstwo duos were selected by an Evaluation Commission.

baptized Fiorifor the first pair designed by the students of theAB SABIN Comprehensive Institute of Segrate (Milan), and Stoatsfor the second imagined by the students of theComprehensive Institute of Taverna (Catanzaro), these duets are now subject to the appreciation and approval of the public and this, by means of an online vote accessible from the official website of Milan-Cortina 2026.

In details, Fiori consists of a stylized representation of two emblematic plants of the mountains, namely an edelweiss and a snowdrop.

To give life to these two characters and allow a certain appropriation by the public, Milan-Cortina 2026 imagined a story relating a long journey between mountains and cities, like a parallel between the association of the two figureheads of the transalpine project that are Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo, a city of European importance and a recognized resort in the Dolomites.

In order to complete this journey to the Games, the edelweiss and the snowdrop will have to overcome obstacles, between snow and ice in the valleys, while getting to know each other and perceive their common points beyond differences. A philosophy that joins here the Olympic and Paralympic values.

Pour Stoatsthe duo consists of two characters with the features of an animal, namely the ermine.

The duo more particularly represents twins, one with a white coat, the other with a brown coat, with the ambition to participate in the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Milan-Cortina 2026.

To achieve this, the two ermines will have to – like the duo Fiori – overcoming obstacles, in particular by trying out all the sports disciplines represented at the Winter Games. If the objective is to compete on the slopes, this animal duo also and above all wants to be an active support for the athletes and an ally for the spectators.

By presenting characters symbolizing fauna and flora, Milan-Cortina 2026 undoubtedly hopes to transmit an educational message with a strong societal impact at a time of issues related to climate change and the need to ensure the preservation of natural environments.

Of the two proposals submitted today to the public – who can also join the Fan Team of Milan-Cortina 2026 – the winning pair of the poll should be revealed later in 2023, before the characters take shape through strategy marketing and communication which will be gradually installed by the Italian organizers until the opening of the Games, February 06, 2026.
