AFTER releasing their last full studio album in 2017, One More Light, Linkin Park is now preparing to welcome the release of their latest full studio album, From Zero which will be released on November 15. Rumors about the album’s release have been buzzing since September 5, along with the announcement of new personnel, Emily Armstrong on main vocals and Colin Brittain on drums.

After the death of vocalist Chester Bennington by suicide in 2017, Linkin Park took a break from the music stage. Even though it was colored by various comments from the deceased’s family when the announcement of Linkin Park’s return, Mike Shinoda and friends will continue to present their new music, with new members, and a new album.

“I feel like it just happened (about a certain moment to decide when the band would return). We make music. We gathered together. We set up the session and arrange a time to meet. But it wasn’t like a call of, ‘hey, come on, bring back Linkin Park.’ “In fact, it’s more like, ‘let’s make music that we like,’ and I think that’s the best way,” said Linkin Park rapper, guitarist and keyboardist Mike Shinoda in a virtual interview session, Friday (27/9).

Regarding Linkin Park’s new album, From Zero, Shinoda said that it was like making any other album that was inspired by certain ideas and things that made him happy. Instead of simply viewing music as a mere commodity like fast food or a fashion product, for Shinoda the essence of being an artist and musician is to turn ideas into something more meaningful and visible.

“The essence of being an artist and playing in a band, is more about taking something that is a spark of an idea that doesn’t mean anything. It’s like it’s blurry and can be messy, and fragile. Then you chase that thing, and turn it into something. And sometimes it turns into something great,” continued Shinoda. (M-4)
