Archyde.com reported that Pence and other comrades in the party seeking the Republican presidential nomination have recently stepped up their verbal offensive once morest China, believing that China is the number one enemy of the United States.
Pence said in a speech at the Hudson Institute, a conservative think tank in Washington, today: “China is the greatest strategic and economic threat facing the United States in the 21st century.”
“China may not be an evil empire right now, but it is working hard to become one,” Pence said.
Pence called for strengthening arms sales to Taiwan, cutting off economic ties between the United States and China’s important industries, restricting Chinese citizens from working in American technology companies to reduce intellectual property theft, and banning the Chinese social media TikTok nationwide.
Pence expanded the differences among Republican presidential candidates over the Russia-Ukraine war and how China will view the United States’ continued response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Pence said it is crucial for the United States to provide Ukraine with all necessary military support so that Ukraine can defeat the Russian army.
Pence criticized some of his 2024 election opponents for being “isolationist,” but did not name them. According to the report, candidates such as technology investor Vivek Ramaswamy, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and former President Trump have all questioned the Biden administration’s blind provision of military and economic assistance to Ukraine.
Pence said: “Just imagine what would happen if those who hold a conciliatory attitude in the Republican Party successfully withdraw support for Ukraine. In addition to sending a flashing green light for China to invade Taiwan, what message will this move send to China? “
Republicans vying for the presidential nomination in the November 2024 election almost unanimously believe that China is the number one enemy of the United States. Some political campaign operators said that in this Republican election, attacks were more frequent and proposals were bolder than before, all because of the shift in domestic public opinion in the United States.
A poll released by the Pew Research Center at the end of July showed that regarding 50% of Americans believe that China is the biggest threat to the United States; followed by Russia, with 17% of respondents thinking it is Russia. Ramaswamy is scheduled to give a speech on the 21st and will explain how he will ensure that the economy is not dependent on China.
Dishant’s aides also said that Dishant will deliver a foreign policy speech in the near future and is expected to elaborate on his strong stance towards China. Disante has already called for the termination of normal trade relations with China, and he has also banned the use of TikTok on devices issued by the government and schools in Florida.
