Mikati: The Kuwaiti ambassador will return to Beirut before the end of the week

On Thursday, the office of Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati announced in a statement that Kuwait had informed him that its ambassador in Beirut would return to Lebanon before the end of the week, in a sign of easing tensions in the wake of the dispute that saw Gulf states withdraw their envoys last year.

And the Lebanese government announced in a statement via its Twitter account: “Prime Minister Najib Mikati informed Kuwait’s Ambassador, Abdel-Al Al-Qena’i, of the Kuwaiti government’s decision to return to Beirut before the end of the week.”

The statement added that Mikati stressed that what unites Lebanon and Kuwait is a history of strong brotherly relations that are becoming more and more solid with the days.

Mikati thanked Kuwait’s Foreign Minister, Sheikh Ahmed Nasser Al-Mohammed Al-Sabah, for the efforts he made to restore the Lebanese-Gulf relations to their clarity and vitality.
