That’s what Sweden’s currently top-ranked ATP professional wrote on Twitter on Tuesday. Shortly therefollowing, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne confirmed the decision. The reason for Ymer’s ban is that, according to the World Tennis Association (ITF), he failed three times in 2021 to indicate his whereregardings for doping controls.
In the course of the appeals process in the case, he learned on Monday that the CAS had banned him from professional tennis for 18 months, even though he had never taken any prohibited substances or had even been accused of doing so, the 24-year-old explained.
Ymer considers the court’s decision unfair. The number 51 in the world rankings emphasized that he understands that these rules were introduced to protect the integrity of tennis, but does not believe that he has violated them.
