Miguel Polo Polo after controversy with the Afro seat

With 35,253, Miguel Polo Polo would stay with the seat of the Afro Special District in the House of Representatives. However, he sparked controversy due to the claims of some communities for his arrival in Congress.

Regarding the election day of March 13, he responded regarding the criticisms that have been made for his candidacy and the votes that Lina Martínez obtained.

“They are attacks from the contradictory ones who cannot bear that we have won them, we know from the mornings of the candidate’s father, we have the best team of lawyers and very well supported, we are convinced that no one is going to snatch the candidacy,” said Miguel Polo Pole.

What does it say regarding Afro communities?

According to Miguel Polo Polo, he has been working with the Council Fernando Rios del Magdalena since 2018.

In accordance with the requirements to be a representative of the afro communitiesthe applicant must be a member of the community and be previously endorsed by an organization registered with the Department of Affairs of Black Communities of the Ministry of the Interior.

I have not killed, I have not kidnapped, I do not buy votes, I fulfill all the requirements. I don’t see that same mood once morest candidates who are questionable,” said Miguel Polo Polo.

Regarding his work with the communities, he indicated that he has carried out social work that he exposes on his networks. “The Afro issue, we all have Afro, for me it is important to show that in Colombia everyone is equal, there should be no distinction by race, we deserve the same treatment before the law,” she said.

Friendships with the Government

Regarding his work with the Afro communities, he indicated that through his friendships he has achieved a connection between the black communities and the Government.

“Many of the people do not have a way to reach the national government, I have had the opportunity to meet close people. I have not offered favors, I have not offered bribes, it is simply friendship. It is useless for you to be a leader and not manage your community. (…) It is not a sin to have friends within the Government”, he indicated.

With regard to aid for Afro-Colombian communities, he indicated: “many of the government aids are aids that end up perpetuating poverty. If a society has many subsidies, we are seriousMore than subsidies, I would like to generate Afro employment that does not depend on the social program on duty.

Finally, he indicated that his closeness to Senator María Fernanda Cabal is due to a friendship and “he does not know if he voted for him.”
