Miguel Herrera knows that his Americanist past is a barrier to one day managing Chivas, but he is willing to do it.
In an interview with the newspaper Récord, “Piojo” left the door open to Chivas, in the hypothetical case that there were to be a rapprochement between them.
“With anyone from Liga MX. I have always said that Chivas is going to be very difficult, not because I don’t want to, because at the end of the day it is work and one has to work where they call you. I think that the lineage that I have established for what I won with América is going to make it very difficult for the people of Chivas to turn to me or for the people of Chivas to accept with tranquility that I am going to direct them,” he commented in an interview that was published by the newspaper Esto.
Herrera, who is currently without a team following being kicked out of Xolos de Tijuana, said that the team he has in his heart is Atlante, so he has no problem sitting down to talk with anyone else.
“If they ever call me, I will always be ready for any team. It’s a job, I will always have the Atlante jersey and heart in my heart, because it’s the team I’ve been supporting since I was a kid. I will be very grateful to all the teams that have given me work and whoever comes looking for me, I will give my all,” added the Mexican coach.
