Bassist and founder of Los Piojos, Micky Rodríguez, says goodbye to the project with an emotional message.
In a moving statement, Miguel Ángel Rodríguez, bassist and one of the founders of Los Piojos, has confirmed that he will not be part of the band’s long-awaited comeback, scheduled for December. Through a lengthy post on Instagram, Rodríguez shared his pain and disappointment, putting an end to speculation about his participation in the shows.
The musician said he had dreamed of this comeback for years, but felt excluded from key decisions. “Today I have a feeling of emptiness… Losing those dreams leaves me feeling helpless”he wrote, reflecting his dissatisfaction with the way the situation was handled. He claimed that he was never informed about the creation of the account. “The Official Lice” nor about plans for the return, finding out the details through social networks like any other fan.
Rodriguez also denounced a feeling of harassment and neglect, stressing that, as a founder, he expected to have a say in the process. “I am one of the founders of Los Piojos and I did not participate in any decision. None.”he said, making clear his disappointment with the direction the band was taking.
Despite the pain, the bassist clings to the love of his fans and the respect of his colleagues, which serves as a consolation in this difficult time. “Because beyond everything, I am Piojoso until I die, and that is something that no one, even if they want to, will be able to take away from me”he concluded, leaving the door open for future reflection on his experience.
The news of Rodríguez’s absence from Los Piojos’ return has generated a strong echo in the community of fans, who see in his words a deep connection with the history of the band and its values.
