As of this Wednesday, May 24, Migrations will enable 200 appointments so that people can obtain their passport on the same day, reported the National Superintendent of Migrations, Jorge Fernández Campos.
“We are ahead of what we promised, which was to attend without appointments or the appointments the same day that the receipt was paid at the Banco de la Nación. So starting tomorrow we have enabled 200 appointments for people who want to get their passport without the need for an expression of cause”, said Fernández Campos in RPP.
The official explained that the public can process the document in any case, that is, for a planned trip, for a visa process or for an emergency.
The procedure
The head of Immigration indicated that those interested will have to register on the Migrations website, which will be enabled every day from 6:00 am, with 200 appointments initially, and will be attended between 3:00 pm and 9:00 pm
The cost of the document is S/ 98.60 and can be paid through the application Págalo.pe or any Banco de la Nación office or Multired agent.
“The goal is to serve 500 people under this modality, we started with 200 to progressively observe what additional capacity we need to serve 500 people per day.”, he added.
He specified that this delivery of passports on the same day will begin at its headquarters in Breña (Av. España 734) and then be extended to its offices nationwide.
With or without appointment
The superintendent pointed out that this new service for obtaining an immediate passport is aimed at anyone who has paid their right to a passport in any year, whether or not they have a previously scheduled appointment, or whether or not they have an emergency.
He also explained that if a person already had an appointment scheduled for October, November or December, and manages to obtain a quota from tomorrow for immediate attention, “automatically” their initial appointment is canceled and it is free for another citizen who wishes to process their passport for those months.
He recalled that Migrations had initially promised to eliminate from June the appointment system to obtain the passport, the same one that took up to six months to get attention. However, since there was no high demand during the white march that was implemented in May, it has been decided to bring the service forward on the same day.
