Migrant Worker Sentenced to 82 Years in Rape Case: Perumbavoor Fast Track Court Verdict

Kochi: A non-state worker has been sentenced to 82 years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs. Judge Dinesh M. Pillai of Perumbavoor Fast Track Court (POCSO) sentenced Ishbul Islam (25), a native of Assam Nagaon, to imprisonment and a fine.

The incident took place in August 2021. A 13-year-old girl from Murshidabad, Bengal was threatened with a knife and tortured. The girl was staying with her mother. The Kurupampadi police registered the case and conducted an investigation and filed a charge sheet. Inspector VS Vipin, ASI Manoj Kumar, Senior CPO Anish Kuriakos, CPOs Vipin Varki, NP Bindu, R. Ajith and others were present in the investigation team. Adv.A.Sindhu appeared for the prosecution.
