After a descent into hell, courtesy of a methamphetamine addiction, which also caused him several run-ins with the law, the interpreter of goalkeeper Greg Goldberg in the Mighty Ducks, Shaun Weiss, celebrated two years of sobriety on Wednesday.

His friend Drew Gallagher, who has supported him on his journey, shared a photo montage of Weiss on Instagram to celebrate the occasion, contrasting a snapshot from 2020 and another from 2022, where the former actor is unrecognizable. He appears to have gained weight and is much healthier.
“What a triumph! Congratulations, Shaun Weiss on two years of sobriety! So proud of you, bro. Look at you now”, can we read in the description that accompanies the photo.
For his part, the former star of Mighty Ducks a also shared the same mount, mentioning that his journey to sobriety had started with the technique of the “Twelve Steps”, advocated in particular in groups like Alcoholics Anonymous.
According to TMZ, Weiss and Gallagher were to celebrate the anniversary with food from Brent’s Deli restaurant, the same one where the pair would have stopped in 2017 when the ex-actor was released from prison. In short, a symbolic gesture to mark an important stage in the life of the American, now 43 years old.

Certainly, it’s a happy turnaround for Shaun Weiss, who had made headlines a few times over the past few years for much darker events.
The former actor thus spent several years dealing with a methamphetamine addiction and lived for a while on the streets. He was also arrested on various occasions for stories of theft, drug possession, breaking and entering and intoxication in a public place.
Since the start of the pandemic, however, Weiss has completed a court-mandated rehabilitation program and has gradually managed to get her life back on track.
