The 27-year-old Miedema opened the score for Arsenal visiting Liverpool after an hour of play. The striker found the goal with a shot from the edge of the box.

For Miedema it was her first goal since December 2022. She was then out of action for months due to a serious knee injury. The attacker made her return to Arsenal last October.

Nine minutes after 0-1, Caitlin Foord doubled Arsenal’s lead. Shortly afterwards Miedema was substituted. Victoria Pelova played for ‘The Gunners’ until just before the end and Shanice van de Sanden was substituted for Liverpool twenty minutes before the end.

Thanks to the victory, Arsenal joins number two Manchester City. The Londoners are one place lower than City due to a worse goal difference. Liverpool can be found in fifth place.
