Mie Prefecture announced on December 8 that 1,913 people in the prefecture (including 327 announced by Yokkaichi City) were infected with the new coronavirus, and one woman in her 80s and two women in their 90s died. A total of 313,111 people were infected in the prefecture, and 601 died.
According to the announcement, the breakdown of infected people by municipality is 327 in Yokkaichi City, 274 in Suzuka City, 263 in Tsu City, 185 in Kuwana City, 151 in Matsusaka City, 127 in Nabari City, 123 in Iga City, and 97 in Ise City. 53 in Komono Town, 52 in Inabe City, 48 in Kameyama City, 36 in Toin Town, 28 in Kawagoe Town, 24 in Shima City, 17 in Watarai Town, 15 in Tamaki Town, 14 outside the prefecture, 13 in Meiwa Town Kihoku Town 11 people, Taki Town 8 people, Asahi Town 7 people, Toba/Kumano City, Minamiise Town 6 people each, Owase City, Kisomisaki Town 5 people each, Taiki/Mihama Town 4 people each, Odai/Kiho 1 in each town, 2 unknown.
The number of hospitalized patients in the prefecture increased by 9 from the previous day to 244, and the number of severely ill patients increased by 1 to 6. The bed occupancy rate was 43.6%, and 12% for severely ill patients.
