Mie Prefecture announced on December 2 that 1,697 people in the prefecture (352 announced by Yokkaichi City) were infected with the new coronavirus, and four men and women in their 80s and above (two of them) died. A total of 304,064 people were infected in the prefecture, and 584 people died.
According to the announcement, the breakdown of infected people by municipality is 352 in Yokkaichi City, 289 in Tsu City, 190 in Suzuka City, 152 in Kuwana City, 132 in Matsusaka City, 90 in Iga City, 81 in Nabari City, and 80 in Ise City. 69 in Komono Town, 58 in Inabe City, 33 in Kameyama City, 31 in Toin Town, 24 in Asahi Town, 18 in Kawagoe Town, 12 each in Meiwa and Tamaki Town, 10 each in Shima City and Watarai Town 8 in Kiho Town, 7 in Toba City, 6 each in Owase/Kumano City and Kihoku/Mihama Town, 4 each in Odai/Minamiise Town and outside the prefecture, and 1 each in Kisomisaki/Taki/Taiki Town.
The number of hospitalized patients in the prefecture increased by 12 from the previous day to 231, and the number of severely ill patients remained unchanged at 4. The bed occupancy rate was 44.2%, and the number of severely ill patients was 8%.
