Midfielder Almike Moussa N’Diaye hospitalized in intensive care

The 32nd final of the Coupe de France between Hyères and OM turned out very badly for Almike Moussa N’Diaye. The National 2 club midfielder, injured on Saturday by Marseille’s Eric Bailly, was transported to the “Hôpital Nord de Marseille “where he was admitted to the service of” resuscitation as a precaution”, said the president of the Var club Mourad Boudjellal.

The player had previously been taken to a hospital in Martigues, where the game was held. “We pray that everything goes well for him. He’s a great boy and one of our best elements, ”added the former boss of Rugby Club Toulonnais.

At first, the staff of the Hyères club had been rather reassuring. “More fear than harm, nothing serious, maybe a concussion,” said assistant coach Zaki Noubir on Maritima radio. “Bailly quickly came to our locker room to offer his jersey and above all to hear from him,” he added.

N’Diaye’s injury occurred in the 15th minute of the match, which was eventually won 2-0 by OM. On a counter-attack from Hyères, he was hit in the chest and at full speed by the foot of Eric Bailly, who arrived late. The Var attacking midfielder was evacuated from the field on a stretcher and taken to an ambulance parked at the edge of the lawn.
