The theory caught on, as user X (formerly of Twitter) pointed out that this explains why her hair is fuzzy and see-through where the hat covered it on the Vogue cover.
The second theory was developed by TikToker Aline Ashtonwhich claims that the image of Kate Middleton was taken from a photo taken in November 2023 of an appearance with her husband, William, at a charity event.

Photo-gate seems not to have gone unnoticed by the Sussexes either, with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle expressing their own bitterness. Sources close to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, as reported by Page Six, commented that “Meghan would never make this mistake.” Sussex exiles would have been “disappeared” from the media if they had shared Photoshopped photos of themselves and their family, they said.
