DUBAI, 8th July, 2020 (WAM) — The Middle East and North Africa Solar Energy Conference, organized by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority from November 15 to 18, will discuss 6 innovative research areas that highlight the latest developments, latest technologies and scientific research in the field of solar energy, with the participation of elite experts. The scientific and technical conference, which will last for four days at the Dubai World Trade Center, will discuss various fields of scientific research in the solar energy sector, which will contribute to accelerating the transition towards renewable and clean energy by 2050.
His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of DEWA, indicated that organizing the first session of the “Middle East and North Africa Solar Energy Conference” during the “Year of Sustainability” in the UAE, during which the country is hosting the twenty-eighth session of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change “COP 28” in Dubai Expo City, comes as part of DEWA’s efforts to consolidate Dubai’s global position in the field of renewable and clean energy. It also constitutes an additional impetus for the renewable and clean energy sector in the Middle East and North Africa region, in addition to supporting DEWA’s efforts in the field of innovation, research and development in this sector, in line with the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the Carbon Neutral Strategy 2050 for the Emirate of Dubai to provide 100% of the energy production capacity from clean energy sources.
For his part, Engineer Walid bin Salman, Executive Vice President of Business Development and Excellence Sector at DEWA, said that the “Middle East and North Africa Solar Energy Conference” represents an important opportunity for specialists, researchers and workers in the solar energy sector, as it is the first scientific and technical conference of its kind in the world. The region specializes in the field of photovoltaic systems, and includes a series of specialized discussion sessions with the participation of elite experts, researchers and specialists from around the world.
The conference focuses on 6 leading research areas in the field of solar energy, including new and unconventional concepts for future technologies.
