The Deputy Minister of Rural Development and Food, Stavros Keletsis, promised the livestock farmers of Thessaly that the compensations for the damages caused by Daniel in September 2023 will be paid by the end of July.
The issue of the payment of community aid was also brought up for discussion, with Mr. Keletsis pointing out that the money is expected to be credited to the accounts of the beneficiaries of the affected farmers within Holy Week, according to the planning of the HYPAAT.
They addressed the issues that exist regarding Measure 5.2, which concerns the complete and free replacement of livestock but also the completely free reconstruction of stable facilities and restoration of equipment, with the responsible deputy minister asking the Federation to submit its proposals.
Finally, according to newsit, the two sides referred to the issue of checks on both feta and lamb goats during the current period of Easter and the problems that exist from the lack of veterinarians.
The breeders noted, among other things, that the immediate solution of the problems is the only way for the survival of the sector.
For his part, Mr. Keletsis emphasized that the controls are continuing both in feta and lambs.
