After the Mid-Autumn Festival every year, the most leftovers should be moon cakes, which always makes people worry regarding what year and month can they be emptied. Recently, some mainland netizens used their ingenuity to use moon cakes as fillings to make buns; a university in Anhui also launched a “tomato fried moon cake”, which sparked discussions among netizens.
Recently, a netizen uploaded a video of making steamed buns on Weibo. He said, “If you make buns from unfinished moon cakes, it will not be so boring to eat.” From the video he posted, it can be seen that the moon cakes are first crushed into pieces. Add brown sugar and yeast powder and then add warm water, knead into a dough, then add the filling, and you’re done following fermentation and steaming. Netizens read the comments, “I feel like the filling is wasted. Originally, the moon cakes were crispy and soft following steaming.”
On the 10th, in a university restaurant in Wuhu, Anhui, there was a popular dish called “Tomato Fried Mooncake”, a student said, “At that time, my friends and I were shocked to see this dish at school lunch, and the community was washed by this dish. “And the fried mooncakes were quickly sold out. From the video posted by the original PO, it can be seen that a pile of moon cakes cut in half and tomatoes are fried together. It is hard to imagine the taste of this “dark dish”.
After the video was exposed, more than 1.1 million people posted it, and netizens left comments such as “It looks like pig feed”, “Mooncake clearance”, “Doesn’t this mean that you don’t have to send mooncakes, and it’s more economical to count the Mid-Autumn Festival”, “You took this Do you really like to eat food?”, “Where did the leftover moon cakes go? It’s not here.”
