MIC’s technical and commercial mission seeks to attract investments to generate new jobs

Asunción, IP Agency.- A Paraguayan delegation led by Deputy Minister of Industry, Lorena Méndez, and joined by representatives of the Vice Ministry of the Investment and Export Network (Rediex) traveled to Chile to attract investment to the country in order to generate new opportunities for Paraguayans.

The delegation of authorities from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, within the framework of the technical and commercial mission, plans to hold several meetings with representatives of several Chilean companies.

In this context, he held a meeting with directors of the Novoplast brand, dedicated to providing solutions in the conduction of fluids and electrical channeling.

Likewise, it serves Chile’s main industries such as mining, infrastructure, construction, telecommunications, agribusiness and aquaculture.

This Chilean firm is the parent company of the company Harz SRL, which operates in national territory under the maquila regime. At the time, representatives of Harz SRL and representatives of the Chilean company expressed their interest in expanding their investments and operations under the maquila in Paraguay.

This firm develops its operations in the city of Mariano Roque Alonso, in the Central department and is dedicated to the production and marketing of products and raw materials for the plastic industry, such as pigmented stabilizers, PVC resin, PPR pipes, PVC and HDPE pipes in pellets, which are mainly exported to Chile.

According to official data from the CNIME, at the end of last year the firm achieved a total of USD 3,465,928 million in exports.

This maquiladora contributes to the generation of jobs and constitutes a fundamental pillar within the sector, with quality, innovation and development, standing out as an important contributor to the country’s economy.

The Paraguayan delegation also plans a meeting with Gabriela Jorquera, from the Small Business Division, from the Undersecretary of Economy and Business and with Maximiliano Proaño, Undersecretary of the Environment and with directors of the Walmart Chain, among other activities on the agenda. .
