Microsoft’s New AI Cowriter Feature Coming Soon to Windows Notepad

Washington, January 10 (QNA) – Microsoft is preparing to add a new artificial intelligence feature to the Notepad application built into the Windows operating system.

Windows observers discovered code in Microsoft’s recent beta versions of the Windows 11 operating system indicating that the new Cowriter feature is coming soon. This feature uses artificial intelligence to rewrite text, make the text short or long, and change the way you write or format the text.

The new feature appears to contain the same credits system that Microsoft uses in the Cocreator feature in the Paint application to allow Windows users to know how many times they can use these artificial intelligence-supported features.

You need to use an online service that requires you to sign in to your Microsoft account to use the Cocreator feature in the Paint application.

Microsoft has greatly improved the Notepad program within the Windows 11 operating system in recent years, adding dark mode, tabs, character count, and other features, such as automatic saving and automatic restoration of tabs.

The company seeks to integrate this type of artificial intelligence features directly into Windows applications as a way to attract users to purchase artificial intelligence credits.

This new feature comes at a time when Microsoft is removing the Notepad application from Windows following nearly 30 years.
